Overall, it was a pretty fun year, full of exciting things; sometimes I find myself wishing to have more time to do more stuff, but alas, our time in this world is all but limited, so we have to make do with what we have, so to make it count, here are some of the things I'd love to do for 2026

Inspired by Parker's Ponderings (a Paid-Only article on Substack, but one of my favorite Philosophy professors), I aspire to become a "Renaissance man." I'll be making a few subtle changes to better accommodate my interests and time, as well as address other significant life events that will occur this year. Here's the list:

Read 12 books

As much as I would love to read 12 books, I want to split my time between Books and manga and half this amount to not stretch myself too thin

Books:

  • Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
  • Mask of Shadows by Lynsey Miller
  • Don Quijote by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

Bonus: I want to reread The View from Nowhere by Thomas Nagel

Manga:

  • My Dress Up Darling
  • Komi san can't communicate
  • Mashle

As a bonus, I want to continue or start reading the following

  • Ruri Dragon
  • Tongari Boushi no Atelier
  • Frieren
  • Rimuru's manga (I reincarnated as a Slime)

Start (restart, or continue) something physical and tough

This one is straightforward: keep going to the gym and lift

Start (or restart) playing an instrument

I'll swap this to learn how to draw. I've been drawing more and more as of late

Write a short story

I'd love to! I might do what St. Augustine did and do a "contemplatio"

Read the Bible

I think this one makes sense for Western audiences, as this book shaped the Western hemisphere far more than anything else

Start (or restart) studying Math, Logic, or both

Kinda required in this field, so I'll keep going

Here's to a wonderful 2026!
